Businesses Might Wait Another Year for Windows 8 Migration

Many corporations are still in the middle of upgrading to Windows 7, and with the release of Windows 8, DesktopReviewreports that analysts predict businesses will wait until next year, if at all, to upgrade. As originally reported by the Wall Street Journal, Dell Chief Financial Officer Brian Gladden is one executive who thinks companies will hold off until next summer to deploy Windows 8. Upgrading too early could be a risk for businesses, especially corporations using custom built applications, which need to be tested on the new OS before being rolled out within the company. Many companies will also want to wait to ensure any bugs have been worked out of Windows 8 before adopting the new operating system. There is also a lack of anticipation for Windows 8, a Forum Windows 8 survey found out of the Windows 7 users who replied, half preferred Windows 7 over 8.
