BlackBerry 10 touchscreen phone to be called Z10 according to leak

BlackBerry Z10
The upcoming BlackBerry 10 smartphone will be called the BlackBerry Z10, according to a leaked marketing image.

As well as revealing Research in Motion’s new shorter, catchier naming style, the full-touchscreen phone is shown in both black or white versions.

The handset is one of two models expected to be officially unveiled at the launch of the BlackBerry 10 range on 30 January. The other is believed to be a more traditional looking BlackBerry with QWERTY keypad, which may be called the X10, though that is less certain at this time.

Previous reports referred to the full-touchscreen model as part of the L-series, using the code name London

The much-delayed BlackBerry 10 is a heavily revamped operating system, which RIM hopes will revive its flagging financial fortunes in 2013.

The company this week announced that it had lost a million subscribers during the third quarter of 2012 (from 80m to 79m), reportedly the first time its user numbers have shown a drop. It also made a loss of $114m, though this was smaller than some market analysts had expected
